The Challenge

  • Overall lack of adoption and ability to present to distributed sales team across the globe
  • No way to generate Quota vs. Actual or Percent Achievement charts
  • Lack of real-time reports to gauge performance at a glance

For over 5 years, Mind Gym has had over 70 NetSuite users, primarily sales representatives distributed around the globe, who suffered from an overall lack of adoption and ability to present information to relevant constituents. Along with not having any form of visual reports inside of NetSuite, data was exported to Excel, and they also had no way of being able to create Quota vs. Actuals or Percent Achievement charts, and generally lacked the ability to gain real-time insights into their performance.  Getting the information needed required visiting multiple systems, as a result, and there was a general low engagement of NetSuite amongst the sales team.

The Solution

  • Built first visual reports from NetSuite data for entire sales team
  • Revenue, visits, and pipeline visual reports available in real-time
  • Leveraged mashups to build Quota vs. Actuals as well as Percent Achievement charts

Mind Gym implemented iCharts with the goal of keeping their distributed global sales team engaged and motivated with real-time metrics coming out of NetSuite.  This would be the first time the team had any insights into their performance from the NetSuite data. They started by creating charts around revenue, pipeline, and visits so that each team member could gauge their performance individually, as well as how they rank relative to the rest of the team.  They were able to leverage iCharts’s mashup capabilities to build Quota vs. Actuals reports, as well as Percent Achievement charts, which hadn’t previously been possible with standard NetSuite reports.

  • Improved collaboration and productivity amongst the sales team
  • Improved motivation through a standard set of real-time metrics
  • Significantly improved engagement with NetSuite

One of Mind Gym’s beliefs is that sales motivation requires that individuals have the ability to see their performance and how they are tracking against their targets. Once Mind Gym rolled out their sales dashboards of key KPIs the global sales team, they saw a marked increase in engagement with the NetSuite data.  And because the sales team was engaged with NetSuite, they kept the data more up-to-date, making NetSuite increasingly more useful to the company. The team says that users flock to NetSuite because they now get instant metrics.
